Pro setup guide
Activate Jinja2 Enhance Pro
Five steps, about two minutes. Pro is delivered as a signed VSIX through Lemon Squeezy — install it once and activate with the license key from your purchase email.
Pro is currently in pre-release — it ships from the
pre-release branch and may have rough edges.
If you hit a bug, please report it at
jinja2-html-enhancer-pro-issues.
Your feedback helps us cut a stable release faster.
- 1
Buy a Pro license
Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy. Checkout takes about 30 seconds. You'll receive an email with your license key.
- 2
Install the Free extension
Pro depends on the Free extension. Install it from the VS Code Marketplace or Open VSX — it's the foundation Pro builds on. VS Code installs it automatically when you grab Pro from a marketplace.
- 3
Install Pro from your marketplace
On VS Code or Cursor, install from the VS Code Marketplace. On VSCodium, OpenVSCode, or any non-Microsoft fork, install from Open VSX. Both ship the same signed extension.
- 4
Activate your license
Open the Command Palette (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "Jinja2 Pro: Activate License". Paste the license key from your purchase email. The status bar will switch to "Jinja2 Pro" with a check mark when activation succeeds.
- 5
You're done
Backend-aware variables, cross-file go-to-definition, macro IntelliSense, and advanced linting are now active. The license re-validates every 24h online; if you're offline, Pro keeps working for up to 7 days.
Troubleshooting
- The status bar shows "Jinja2 Pro (offline)"
- You're inside the 7-day offline grace period. Reconnect to the internet and run "Jinja2 Pro: Show License Status" to re-validate.
- Activation says "invalid"
- Double-check the license key (no leading/trailing spaces) and that you bought from the right product. If the issue persists, email support and we'll re-issue.
- I want to move my license to another machine
- Run "Jinja2 Pro: Deactivate License" on the old machine, then activate on the new one with the same key. Each license allows multiple seats up to your plan's limit.
- How do I update Pro?
- When a new release ships, you'll get an email with a fresh VSIX. Install it via "Extensions: Install from VSIX…" — your license stays activated.
- I found a bug or have feedback
- Pro is in pre-release — please open an issue at github.com/xubylele/jinja2-html-enhancer-pro-issues. Include your VS Code version, OS, and a minimal repro if possible.
